 Hello,
My name is Robert Fowler. I am the outfitter/guide for Mountain Pass
Hunting. I have been guiding for 24 years. I have worked ranches in
central west Texas from the beginning. I have also, seasonally worked in
British Columbia, The Yukon Territory and Alaska as a big game guide; from
brown bear to stone sheep and everything in between. My whole career has
been seasonal, from hunting with pack strings to bush planes to pick up
trucks. I am skilled in the art of taxidermy and I can cape your trophies
properly and have them ready for your taxidermist.
This is the
third year for me to outfit this ranch. My chief
guide, Steve Campbell and I have extended experience hunting this type of
terrain. In the past, on other local ranches we traditionally hunt one
guide for two hunters. Steve and I will be your guides which mean that four
hunters at a time will have the entire 12,000 acres to themselves for 5
days.
This ranch
is being properly managed and we intend to
keep the game numbers up by not over hunting. Traditionally the rut is the
best time to hunt. The rut season kicks off during November which is the
month we are targeting.
There are several ways we hunt whitetail in this area: over
bait early and late, rattling which has been successful anytime of the day,
stalk hunting is tricky but with the lay of this land we can glass from
ridge tops and catch bucks bedding down and then go to them. Another method
is pushing the deer which requires the right geography which we have in
areas. It’s a team effort.

PRICE: Our price is very reasonable. There are no trophy fees. There are
some 160 class bucks on this ranch. Who else offers an opportunity for

be hunting with has 5 years of professional experience on two other
ranches, just down the road.

EQUIPMENT: We have high quality, dependable gear, solar paneled feeders
and insulated quality blinds. Our bunkhouse will rival the best, complete
with fireplace, washer and dryer, and plenty of room. Also we have a
large enclosed barn with concrete foundation for out of the weather game
handling. This is cowboy country. We have a chuck wagon and can cook you
a steak, Texas style with guitar picking around the fire for evening
